Over the last six years of the Aston Martin productions of models that are equipped with the legendary hugely-powerful V8 and V12 engines the company has managed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about a quarter. This must be recognized as a great success of the automotive marquee, as not every automaker is capable of such a huge change in the production and innovative path. But that seems to be not enough for the owners.

Under the huge pressure from the environmentalists there was supposed to be a small revolution made in the next generation of cars from the Gaydon, as the engines of “eights” may give way to the “sixes”, and 12-cylinder engines will be replaced by the eights or tens. Not so long ago the CEO, Ulrich Bez, of Aston Martin has admitted that the company is exploring the new possibility of installing on their own models smaller engines in comparison to those that are used today: “The four or even three cylinders are also considered as possible for future models now. If the spirit of the times requires six cylinders, it is necessary to look at the new trend. “At the same time such a reduction should not affect the brand image, its uniqueness”, says Betz. In such a way the company can reduce CO2 emissions from the notorious throughout the lineup.
