Aston Martin has developed a new chassis for future supercars

The company Aston Martin will develop its future supercars new platform. For the first time this chassis debut on the model DB9 in 2016. Daimler and Aston Martin have signed a technical cooperation agreement at the end of last year. The partnership involves the joint work on the engines V8, sharing platforms and components. The new platform will replace the aluminum structure called VH, which is used on all models of Aston Martin, with the exception of the One-77 supercar and compact hatchback Cygnet, since Vanquish coupe in 2001. Initially it was assumed that the chassis will be a modernized version of VH with the components of the “Mercedes”, the access to which “Aston” get through a partnership with the concern Daimler AG.

However, we now know that the whole structure will be designed “from scratch”. Detailed information on it yet, but it is probably that the platform will be made of aluminum. Also, it will allow changing freely the size of the track and wheelbase, adjusting the parameters under different models.

In addition to the new chassis, Aston Martin DB9 next generation will get turbo “Eight» AMG (probably one of the engines will be four-liter twin-turbo unit capacity of about 500 troops) and electrical components of the “Mercedes”. As previously reported, the development of new models of the British manufacturer has received a loan of 165 million pounds (197 million euros).
